Sunday, October 7, 2007 "Midwives caring for women through the partnership of education and practice"
Join with the faculty and friends of the SUNY Downstate Midwifery Education Program to celebrate "75 Years of Continuous Midwifery Education in the United States". The Downstate Program traces its roots to the Lobenstine Midwifery School, opened by Maternity Center Association in 1932.
It's everybody's celebration!!!
Daytime educational symposium and brunch at SUNY Downstate, 10am-5pm
Keynote Speaker: Joyce Thompson, CNM, DrPH, FACNM, FAAN
Evening dinner/dance at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, 6:30-11:30pm
75 years of dance music provided by renown radio and Roseland DJ Felix Hernandez

Saturday is also New York's Annual Miles for Midwives in Prospect Park--make this holiday weekend your midwifery weekend. Fall is a beautiful time in New York. Special rates for staying at the Marriott Saturday and/or Sunday night.
